  • Benefits of drinking Elephant Origins tea?
Assam black tea, a core offering at Elephant Origins, boasts a rich flavor profile and a range of potential health benefits. Here are some reasons why you might enjoy incorporating Assam black tea into your daily routine: Rich in Antioxidants: Black tea, particularly Assam, is a great source of antioxidants called polyphenols. These antioxidants help fight free radical damage in the body, which may contribute to various health benefits. May Improve Heart Health: Studies suggest that the polyphenols in black tea may help lower bad cholesterol (LDL) and improve blood vessel function, potentially reducing the risk of heart disease. Boosts Energy and Focus: Assam black tea contains caffeine, which can provide a natural energy boost and improve alertness. Additionally, theanine, another amino acid found in black tea, can work synergistically with caffeine to enhance focus and concentration. May Aid Digestion: Black tea may help stimulate the digestive system and improve gut health. Classic Flavor Profile: Assam black tea is known for its full-bodied taste with malty notes and a hint of spice. It's a satisfying and flavorful beverage that can be enjoyed hot or iced. Important Note: While black tea offers these potential benefits, it's important to remember that everyone reacts differently to caffeine. If you have any concerns, it's always best to consult with a healthcare professional before increasing your tea intake.
  • How do I brew the perfect cup of Elephant Origins?
At Elephant Origins, we want you to experience the full flavor potential of our Assam black tea. Here's a guide to brewing the perfect cup, tailored to your preferences: What you'll need: High-quality black tea leaves (loose leaf or pyramid sachets) Kettle Teapot or mug Strainer (if using loose-leaf tea) Timer Milk and sweetener (optional) Instructions: Fresh, Filtered Water: Use fresh, filtered water for the best taste. Avoid using water that has been sitting for a long time, as it can taste flat. Water Temperature: Heat the water to the appropriate temperature. Ideally, aim for 195°F (90°C) for Assam black tea. Boiling water can make the tea bitter. Warm the Teapot (Optional): Preheat your teapot or mug with hot water while the water heats. This helps maintain the brewing temperature. Discard the preheating water before adding tea leaves. Measure the Tea: Use 1 teaspoon of loose-leaf tea or 1 pyramid sachet per 6 ounces of water. Adjust the amount based on your desired strength. Steep the Tea: Once the water reaches the desired temperature, pour it over the tea leaves. Cover the teapot or mug and let the tea steep for 3-5 minutes. Steeping for longer can result in a bitter taste. Strain and Enjoy: After steeping, strain the tea (if using loose leaf) and remove the tea leaves or sachet. Milk and Sweetener (Optional): If you prefer, add milk and sweetener to your taste. Assam black tea can be enjoyed hot or iced. Tips: Experiment with steeping time to find your perfect strength and taste. Store loose-leaf tea in an airtight container in a cool, dark place to preserve freshness. Use good quality water; it can significantly impact the taste of your tea.
