In 2012, a team of international wildlife experts -- including our founder -- began working with communities in India to solve a deeply troubling problem: The endangered Asian elephant was declining rapidly towards extinction, and the impact of the tea agriculture industry was contributing to their endangerment. In 2016, their work led to the Elephant Friendly Certification™ program -- and identified improved practices for tea farmers to protect these beloved animals. Two years later, Elephant Origins Tea was founded to support elephant conservation by introducing tea lovers across the globe to Certified Elephant Friendly™ tea.
